New Year!

So I know this post is already beyond belated. I spent last semester completing my Masters degree and student teaching. I was a busy bee! I am very excited to make 23 (and 2013) my best year yet. Before I can tell you my goals, I should go over what I have accomplished I guess!

I finished my career at Penn State by being an RA and spending lots of time soaking up the PSU traditions. My good friend was able to get me down on the field for a game. It was awesome!

This semester, I was blessed to be working in an Elementary Learning Support classroom. I worked with some amazing teachers, paraprofessionals and students. My students have made leaps in bounds in terms of academics and behavioral goals. My fourth grader, who has a learning disability in reading, has increased his reading skills from Kindergarten level to almost 4th grade in just 3 short months! I could not be more proud of his hard work. This is one of the many reasons I love my job! Below is a picture of my wonderful mentor teacher, Ellen, and I.

With each new chapter, comes the end of an old one. I have been an RA for the last 2.5 years and am eternally grateful for the experiences and friends I have made along the way. The Sproul staff will always have a place in my heart.

In December, I graduated with my Masters in Special Education and a 4.0! I worked my booty off and am very proud to have accomplished this in just one semester. My entire family came to celebrate and I am grateful they did. It was my brother's 21st birthday along with my father's 50th! I am lucky to have such a special crew to love and support me.

Over these last few weeks I have done some traveling back to Ohio to visit my best friend. I also traveled to Mexico with Dustin to spend some quality time together. It was a wonderful vacation!!

And finally, I accepted a long-term substitute position at a local Middle School teaching Learning Support! I will work from January 28 through the end of the year. I am beyond excited! Here is my NEW and FIRST official School ID! :)

2012 was a great year and I cannot wait to see what 2013 brings. I am starting a healthy fitness plan today which involves working out more and making healthy choices. I want to look and feel my best. I hope to have positive results! I promise to make more posts. I have been doing lots of cooking and will be sharing some good recipes coming up! I hope you all have a great new year and meet your goals!
